And so I thought Canada's legal system was legit...

I always thought that it was the States that was sue crazy, with totally absurd and inane settlements and a total farcard of a legal system.

Well, I was wrong. Canada's legal system is apparently just as susceptible to idiocy and a total waste of taxpayer's money.

This guy found a fly in his water bottle in Windsor. He was awarded $340,000 for "damages." He couldn't sleep for 2 years. Nightmares because of the fly. Oh, the horror! Idiot.

You know, I understand there's no such thing as "common sense", and the legal system has to follow laws and systems and bullshit, but come on ;) The guys a liar. I bet his "hairstyling" business was going under, and this was his way to scam money from EVERYONE ELSE.

What should have happened, is that he should have taken it back to the store, and I'm sure the grocery store would have given him a replacement. Perhaps if he wrote to the company, they would have given him a gift certificate or something and an apology letter to appeal his "feelings" and "damages". Shit happens fuck tard.

If he went to the courts, the judge should have thrown him in jail for a few weeks for wasting the courts time, or perhaps a suitable fine. Perhaps kick him back to his own damn country, or if he's originally from Canada, ship him out anyway (extracize the word? :)) . Instead, he gets $340K? Hrmm.

BAH.

Air Scooter and more!

Saw this inventer guy on the discovery channel the other day. Among many other inventions (including the direction sound device) is the airscooter.

Imagine, a 1 person flying machine, that runs on a gasoline motor, can fly quite a ways without refueling, about as much as a typical car, and can be flown by the average Joe, with no liscence, and is about as complex as driving a motorcycle? Fly a couple hundred kilometers, and then refuel at the nearest gas station? :)

He invented it. :) With a group of aeronautical engineers ofcourse.

They are apparently going to be sold for about $50,000. Not too shabby if you ask me. If I were rich, and had a huge backyard, I'd buy one ;)

For more info,

A cool note: as per the interview with the inventor, the 2 rotor design has been around since the late 1800's. At the time they couldn't make a feasibe prototype, but the 2 rotor design has many advantages for such a light craft (fuel efficieny, quick lift, etc.)

The moral of the story is: going through some old ideas, and seeing if they are now feasible with current technology, seems like a great idea!

Throwing Spammers in the slammer, A GREAT IDEA!

Spammer 9 year sentence

The world's "8th largest" spammer just got 9 years in jail.

I say, good riddance to bad rubbish. Should throw him in jail for more. Perhaps execute him, and show the rest of the spammers the justice system means business. I bet spamming would decrease after that ;)

The world would be a much better place without spammers like these, prolifiting crap.

Oh , but the guy who is (hopefully) going to be thrown in jail (appending appeal) says it was only part of his "email marketing business". Excuse me, those are not businesses. That's like saying to me that a piece of old tofu is a nice juicy grilled steak. I think not.

"Earn $75/hr working from home". Yeah right buddy. If it were that easy, I don't think anyone would leave the house :)
